"I'm thrilled to be working in the cuisine that I grew up with. I have been with Maharani for over ten years, and we are like a family" is the way Anthony Gomez describes his tenure at Maharani. We specialize in North and South Indian specialties while using only the freshest and most flavorful ingredients available for our menu.

"Simple cooking is the best cooking". A beautiful King Fish from the Indian Ocean or an symphony of vegetables picked from the garden cooked only with fresh herbs and spices for our Mixed Vegetable Curry, or even a classic Chicken Tikka sizzling right out of the Thandoor - these are the dishes that are the essence of Indian cooking. Beyond using the best ingredients in simple preparations, I believe there is another element that makes a cuisine or a great chef. "Loving what you do is most important."

When I am not too busy in the kitchen, I always enjoy walking through the dining room and lounge. It gives me the opportunity to meet people. It is always a treat when someone at a table in the dining room smiles and waves me over. I try to spend as much time as possible talking with our guests about the food and wine we showcase. This interaction creates such a special feeling for me that I decided to try to do it on our web site as well.

This section is called "Ask the Chef" and is my way of continuing our conversation after the lights are turned off in the kitchen and dining room at Maharani.
